the Stiehl's | london, ontario family photography

I was pretty excited when Jennie contacted me to do a family shoot with their new little trio. Their adoption of Kaleb was finally going to be official and there's really nothing more appropriate than using photography to document this time in their lives. As exciting as a birth and as memorable as a wedding, it was a shoot I looked forward to for quite some time.

This little boy won me over in an instant. One of my own sons is just a bit younger than Kaleb and there are so many similarities. They are at the age where they'll still wrap their little arms around your neck and snuggle up, where they still think their parents are cool, and they aren't embarrassed to grab your hand and hold on tight. Sweet, sweet little things that I know won't last for long.  There were so many moments I found myself thinking, this is such a BOY. Pretending to fall asleep against a bridge railing but not able to hold a straight face for more than a few seconds ... his big toothy grin ... preference for the silly-face-photos ... questions, questions, questions. A ball of energy.

Kaleb you are so surrounded by love. I could see it in the short time I spent with you and your family. To me it seemed as though you had always been together. Clearly you've wiggled your way into their hearts and into a place that is happy and safe. So lucky you are to have them, and they are equally as lucky to have you. You're a ray of sunshine to two people who have all the love in the world to give you.  This family makes me smile.

Congratulations to Jennie, Alex and Kaleb, and thank you so much for sharing this with me :)

  1. Thank you so much for doing this shoot for us. The photos are excellent and we can't wait to use some of them to announce Kaleb's Final arrival into our family.
