In-Bloom Jewelry | london, ontario photographers | product photography

I am a huge fan of the work of husband-and-wife team Jillian and Kaleb of In-Bloom. Their handmade jewelry and accessories are earthy, fun and funky and the quality is always amazing. We did a beach shoot with them last year to showcase some of their new pieces, and this year we moved to a garden location. These two are so passionate about what they do and it shows! I love that their materials are often created from repurposed wood they find in their travels. I highly recommend checking out their shop and following their work as new works of art are added to the shop regularly. I've always thought that many of their pieces would be perfect for the unique and colour-loving brides out there (bridesmaids too!).

Jillian and Kaleb thanks so much for having us back, and thanks to all the lovely ladies who came out to support In-Bloom ♡

jess + doug and a baby gender reveal | london, ontario photographers

In honour of Mother's Day this past weekend, this blog post features our first gender reveal!! At sunrise. I'm such a morning person (around here we get up around 5:30 a.m.) so when Jess asked to do her shoot bright and early, I was totally in.

We met Jess and Doug in Gibbon's Park, along with two of their BFFs. And cupcakes. Plus a giant box filled with mystery balloons. Jess had given her sealed ultrasound results to the people at the balloon place, and the box was either filled with blue balloons or pink balloons. None of us knowing which colour to expect. SO EXCITING.

Jess was hilarious in the anxious moments leading up to the balloon release.
"Guys! Guys this is a big deal! This is a really big deal! Should we really do it??!!" As she paced / bounced around the box. "WHOOOO!"

I think we were all nervous/excited. These people were about to find out what kind of little baby was all curled up in that cute belly. Pretty BIG deal, and so special to be a part of such a huge moment. There was not a dry eye to be found.

Ahhh! So excited for you guys Jess and Doug!
♡ congratulations!

vanessa and dimitry | london ontario engagement photgraphy

This was a pretty special session because it was at the farm where Dimitry grew up. It was SO good to be out of the city!

Last year Dimitry and Vanessa along with their two boys packed up and moved out west, but they'll be getting married in London this summer and we will be the lucky photographers working with them. These two little guys pretty much impressed me immediately - they were good as gold and pretty pumped to be roaming free in the great outdoors.

Thanks Vanessa and Dimitry, for the fun shoot and also for the pickup truck tour of this amazing property!!

I shall continue to dream about living in a house in the country some day.
Can't wait to work with the four of you again soon : )

kendel + mike | sarnia, ontario engagement photography | london, ontario photographers

We adored this early-morning engagement session! I totally wish more people were willing to do a shoot at 8 a.m.

I grew up near Sarnia, and I am always pretty excited whenever I get the chance to go there for a shoot. It was a fitting setting for Kendel and Mike, he being from the U.S. and she from Canada. For this session, obviously we would need to incorporate the Blue Water Bridge that connects us to our American neighbours. But before this, our shoot began outside of town on a dirt road in the boonies. I always tell people that any random dirt road is A-ok for a great shoot, and this is a prime example. The warm morning sunshine promised a beautiful day ahead, and even though there was still lots of snow floating along the lakeshore when we arrived in town, I would say we lucked out in the weather department.

A pair like this is a dream to photograph together.  Real laughs and real love. And didn't hurt that there's the whole adorable-ness factor.

Kendel and Mike it is quite obvious that the two of you have perfect combination of friendship and love. Thank you for being so awesome. We are so very excited for your wedding day and for the opportunity to work with you again : )

joan + francis | cambridge, ontario wedding photography | london, ontario photographers

When I first sat down with them in their home, I could see right away that these two were kind souls. Plus I totally loved the dress Joan was wearing. And therefore I decided I liked them immediately. And I was thrilled when Francis and Joan chose us to photograph their winter wedding at the Cambridge Mill.

Unpredictable as the weather has been lately, it cooperated with us quite well this winter. As per request, there was snow on the ground  on this day, and we were so happy about that. Yes, a wee bit chilly - but this incredible venue had lots to offer indoors so we could pop in to warm up a bit when we needed to. Francis and Joan met up before the ceremony for a super sweet first look, a walk along the Grand River and some photos along the way. This left most of their cocktail hour available for them to mingle with their guests and enjoy the love ♡

The details of this wedding can not go overlooked and are a result of Joan and Francis and their crafting projects together. I love when couples sit down together to do little wedding-related projects.

Francis and Joan we had such a good time working with you, and all of your people too. When we see a couple so genuinely in love come together and get married... adore.

Francis, your face when you saw Joan... well a photo says a thousand words.

You are birds of a feather. Thanks so much for sharing a little peek into your world, it was awesome.

Congratulations guys!!

brittany + brock | london, ontario wedding photography

I'm becoming a huge fan of the winter wedding and this one was a gem! Brittany and Brock sat down with us last year and described their February wedding vision to us. It was a day they wanted to spend focused on their friends and family, so they opted for a more adventurous shoot together after the wedding in the summer time. But the day wedding still allowed time for all of us to venture outdoors for some quick shots in the sunny winter day. While the guests enjoyed a cookie and hot chocolate buffet all warm and cozy inside West Haven

I loved the pretty violet details of this wedding, Brittany's dress! and the vibe from this crowd was amazing. Brittany and Brock have a ton of friends who were all clearly excited to be there to celebrate- and we heard some of the best/funniest speeches ever at this wedding!

Thank you to Brittany and Brock for sharing this beautiful day with us,  congratulations : )

amy & josh | london, ontario wedding photography

Young love that evolves into grown-up love seems so rare. High school sweethearts most often remain just that nothing more than little memories from a time when life was simple. A time where a cafeteria chicken burger was pretty good. People grow up ... and along with this comes new opportunity, changes and choices. So when I meet two people like Amy and Josh, I truly appreciate the long-time love they've shared.

After fourteen years together, Amy and Josh were married in front of their dearest, all cozy in the Windermere Manor on top of a snow-covered hill.. like something from a fairy tale! We loved how they got ready for the day together. And how creative but simple they were... most of the details you'll see are self-made. So maybe Amy's flowers wizzled and turned brown after outside pics (a frosty -17 degrees?). This beautiful bride grabbed some random flowers and whipped up a new bouquet without a fret. Their whole approach to this wedding was just the same; worry-free. Our day started early that snowy Sunday morning, but since they had a brunch reception we were home before dark. This was a great start to our 2013 season and we're excited for what's to come this year : )

Thanks Amy and Josh, congratulations!

cody and brooklynn | london, ontario engagement photography

When a Canadian photographer books a winter engagement session there sure as heck had better be snow! Our location for this shoot was the UWO campus, and because it was early on New Years Eve it was super quiet. AND we had good new snow on the ground. Hooray!

Cody and Brooklynn are originally from London but now living out west, so we scheduled their session for the holidays when they'd be back in town. Just so happened both Jeremy and myself were both mid-flu (it went around our house for about a month!) but this sweet little shoot and some fresh winter air was a bit of good medicine : )

Cody and Brooklynn we loved working with you, and Brook I especially adore the way you are always laughing! I wish more people were that happy. The two of you together is quite obviously an amazing fit. Another wedding to get excited about this year!

alexandra + bharat | london ontario wedding photography

November is my favourite month of the year and to this date I have extra-loved every single November wedding we've photographed ... this one is no exception!

Oh my, what a day; two cultures coming together. This is a beautiful thing to photograph. Alexandra and Bharat started off by getting ready at the Delta Armouries and after stopping for some photos, they headed to Wortley Village for a Catholic ceremony. Then back to the Armouries for a gorgeous change of wardrobe and a colourful and warm and possibly a bit smokey Hindu ceremony. Every inch of this day was goodness. Alexandra I have to especially point out that you are Disney-princess-beautiful in both pieces of attire.

Look at this woman!

This is the last wedding we will be posting for 2012 and I am thrilled that we can end it with this one.

Alexandra and Bharat - thank you for having us with you. Your love is so obvious and I hope via these photos everyone can see it as we did that day : )

Congratulations!

kendel, ben, and belly | london, ontario pregnancy photography | london, ontario photographers

It had been a while since our last pregnancy shoot so I was really looking forward to working with Kendel and her husband Ben and baby in the belly! How adorable are these two together?! This will be their first baby and they're pretty prepared for her arrival in about a month from now- check out baby's room, Kendel has put so much love into this space! This is one talented woman with a love for crafting that I can totally respect : )

Kendel and Ben thank you so much for having me capture this time in your life, I had so much fun and can't wait to meet the little babe : )
