lee + robin (destination-style wedding in the North!)

How on earth are we so lucky to work with so many incredible couples??!

When Robin and Lee invited us to photograph their wedding, we were extra-excited. First off, from their engagement session earlier this year we knew they were great to work with. But it also meant that we would be packing up our gear for a weekend getaway a few hours north of the city - and mixing work with vacation is always fine by me! This wasn't just your usual one-day wedding celebration either; for the whole week leading up to the big day, Robin and Lee and their army of family and friends stayed at a couple of chalets in Blue Mountain near Collingwood and just let the good times roll. Between golfing, bocce ball and visits to the Tiki bar (and tending to all the little last-minute wedding to-do's) it was a busy week for everyone! We showed up a day early to do some casual family shots before their lobsterfest rehearsal dinner, which was a great way to get to know the cast and crew of the wedding.

The actual wedding was held at the Falls Inn (Walter's Falls, Ontario) and wow, wow, wow! So fun and pretty. Lee is known for her meticulous attention to planning and organization so I'm sure she was the primary driving force behind the success of the day. We loved the bright rainbow-inspired colours that popped up everywhere - from the ribbons they used for their hand-tying ceremony to the gorgeous bouquets, right down to the stellar shoes that Lee was sporting under her gown. A lot of work went into this day. They even prepared activity bags for the kids, with lots of stuff to keep the little ones entertained! All the details were just so cheerful and colourful (as you'll see in the photos below).

Whenever I receive an email from Lee, there's a Dr. Seuss quote in the signature: "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." I love that quote. And it's so Robin and Lee; they are quirky, unique, adorably in love with each other, and not afraid to be themselves. Which made for one fantastic Robin-and-Lee-style wedding day! Thank you for having us, Robin and Lee!  We will not forget this wedding : )

(Patience as these photos load; I could only narrow it down to this selection. And there are hundreds more...)

I already said it, but how beautiful are these flowers ...

Lee's sister is the pretty "sunshine" in the yellow dress; she was due to have her baby in 2 weeks!

Below: a sweetly hand-written card from Robin to Lee (and she almost couldn't even read it due to a sudden onset of tears! She got through it though.)

Below: my favourite shot of Lee, just being Lee.

(Intermission for veil removal & hair flower insertion!)

(Yes those were custom chapstick wedding favours! Lee bought them on Etsy - I think she's addicted to Etsy like I am)

--------- the end of the wedding post! I thought I'd also put up a few shots from their pre-wedding family photo session. The kids were absolute peaches!
